DAY 2: Official opening of
the project. Learning agreements. Discussions: Youth at risk-Who are
they? Working with at-risk groups. Discovering beauty of our town and museums. Making souvenirs.
At 10.00 a.m everybody gathered in Sillamäe Youth Centre of Interest "Beehive" for the official opening of the project. At first project manager Irina introduced the projects agenda and agenda for the day, than participants introduced themselves. By the way, there are 44 participants!
After it participants were divided into several groups in order to discuss and propose their rules for the projects. As a result a code of rules for the project was made.
After lunch and discussion about work with risk groups of youth our participants divided into two groups and had a small walk around the town and visited Sillamäe Museum, where were told the history of Sillamäe and also watched the collections and exhibitions of the museum. Also they visited Sillamäe Centre of Culture and the Museum of Socialism, which is located inside.
Of course, nobody leaves new country or city without souvenirs. Participants of our project do not search for easy ways. Buying souvenirs from the shop is too easy. They made them by themselves. Project manager of Sillamäe Museum and participant of the project Irina Zamarina showe how to make postcards and magnets. Everybody did a great job! Actually it is a great method to work with youth at risks, becaue it gives opportunity to divide them into mixed groups and let the communicate.
